Envirosafe Consultants is a leading national based Safety, Health and Environment Consultancy which offers a range of SHE services across multiple industries.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic SHE professional to join our fast-paced SHE Consultant team. You will be pivotal in delivering a range of SHE services to clients from a broad range of industry sectors playing a key role in identifying risks and developing and delivering tailored solutions. Building relationships with new and existing clients base will be pivotal to this role’s success.
This role is predominately office based with regular client visits including overnight stays across predominantly the North of England. A driver’s license and car are necessary.
Ideally but not essential the perfect candidate will have either the relevant experience in either Legionella or Fire Risk Assessment and Management Systems.
Job Purpose:
To support the Lead SHE Consultant in providing comprehensive and professional SHE advice, training, instruction and information across the company and to it’s clients to ensure high quality SHE standards are achieved.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To provide expert advice in the field of health, safety and environment across the company.
- Carry out risk assessments and SHE audits / inspections across the company client portfolio.
- Undertake reviews of statutory compliance documentation, including Fire Risk Assessment’s, Legionella Risk Assessments and Asbestos Risk Registers and Management Plans, etc.
- To build effective working relationships with client managers to ensure they manage their respective safety, health and environmental responsibilities.
- To review and develop SHE procedures to support the clients SHE management system and certifications such as Safe Contractor, Smas, CHAS, ISO14001 and ISO45001.
- Attendance at safety, health and environment committees or other meetings where safety, health and environment are discussed.
- Assist the Lead SHE Advisers in fulfilling the requirement of SHE legislation.
- Research, analyse and interpret new and existing legal standards/case law/best practice in relation to SHE and provide general/specialist/technical advice at all levels in relation to specific issues and projects.
- Inspect, audit, monitor and report on Statutory Compliance and SHE standards in line with legal/best practice/company policy standards.
- Advise on, develop and deliver company SHE training and awareness raising events to staff and clients.
- Respond to, advise on, investigate and analyse accidents, incidents, near-misses and dangerous occurrences, preparing reports with recommendations.
- To work closely across the SHE Department team to encourage a team based, cohesive and proactive SHE services provision.
- Any other duties and responsibilities appropriate to and commensurate with the level of responsibility as determined by the line manager.
- To produce high quality, concise and detailed SHE audit and inspection reports in line with audits and inspections undertaken.
Essential:
- Safety & health experience preferably within a large and complex organisation.
- Up to date knowledge of current Safety, health, & fire legislation.
- Experience of advising Managers on interpretation of statutory requirements, case law, best practice and policy.
- Experience in either Fire or Water Risk Assessment and Management Systems.
- NEBOSH Diploma level professional Health & Safety qualification (or equivalent)
- Technical member or higher of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH).

- Tactful, discrete and sensitive with an appreciation of confidentiality
- Excellent IT skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft office.
- Ability to communicate effectively with managers and staff.

- Ability to self-motivate and manage own and other workloads in a high-pressure environment.
Desirable:
- Experience in Environmental Management.
- Safety, health, & environment experience within facilities management industry.
- Experience of drafting health, safety and environment procedures and assisting with implementation.
