Location: Medical Centre (site-based).
Hours: 15 hours per week (3 hours per day, Monday-Friday).
Working Pattern: Part of a two-person cleaning team.
Contract Type: Part-time.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Cleaner to join our team at a busy medical centre. You will work as part of a two-person cleaning team to ensure the premises are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety at all times.

As this is a healthcare setting, attention to detail and adherence to strict cleaning procedures is essential to support infection control and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out daily cleaning of designated areas within the medical centre.
  • Clean and sanitise clinical and non-clinical areas including waiting rooms, corridors, offices, and staff areas.
  • Clean and disinfect toilets, washrooms, sinks, and touchpoints.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors as required.
  • Empty bins and replace liners, ensuring correct waste segregation.
  • Replenish consumables such as soap, toilet rolls, and paper towels.
  • Clean surfaces, furniture, doors, glass, and fixtures to a high standard.
  • Follow cleaning schedules and site instructions provided by supervisors.
  • Use cleaning materials and equipment safely and in line with COSHH regulations.
  • Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or stock shortages to the supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a two-person team to ensure all duties are completed efficiently within allocated time.

Person Specification:

Essential:
  • Ability to work reliably and consistently as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
  • Understanding of hygiene and cleanliness in a healthcare environment.
  • Good time management to complete tasks within set hours.
  •  Ability to follow instructions and cleaning procedures.

Desirable:
  • Knowledge of COSHH and infection control procedures.
  • Experience working in a team-based role.

Health & Safety
  • Comply with all health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Follow infection control and cross-contamination prevention procedures.
